Laguna Playhouse has been a community fixture in the charming Laguna Beach arts colony for nearly a century. SVA was entrusted with the modernization effort for the popular community theatre. The design includes the expansion of the theatre’s lobby space toward a dramatic glass curtain wall extending toward the street. The new ticket office is expanded to three ticket windows, all of which meet ADA requirements for accessibility. The relocation of the concession area adjacent to the auditorium creates ample space for socialization prior to performances, and the quarry tile floor creates a sleek, sophisticated environment. These much-needed enhancements will bring this community theatre to 21st century standards.
