This project involved the design of a 950-student elementary school on a small infill parcel of 4.3 acres. To overcome space constraints, SVA’s design utilized a “double-loaded” corridor design, but broke up the spaces into small sections separated by multiple open courtyards that function as flexible outdoor learning environments. The learning courtyards open to the center of campus and the playfields, maximizing the sense of open space. Sustainable design features are prominent throughout the facility design and this project earned CHPS certification.
