Responding to a growing community need for qualified culinary workers, Bryte Elementary School was highlighted and prioritized by Washington USD’s Capital Investment Program (CIP). The new project is an integral part of the community’s Farm to Fork program, as well as a partnership between the regional agriculture industry, community gardens, local food service businesses, and the District. At this unique facility, high school students are taught the entire food cycle, from planting to preparation and serving to food waste management, all with the intent of creating career-ready graduates to work in one of the region’s fastest growing sectors.
