The Kamehameha Community Learning Center at Ma’ili is an innovative complex that provides not only early education classrooms but a new community for keiki, their families, and non-profit organizations from the Waianae Coast. While many organizations have been striving to support this community, this project provides vital additional workspace, bringing the organizations together to collaborate cohesively towards common goals. The project design emphasizes two key elements: creating a welcoming environment that helps serve as a transition between home and the classroom and fostering a sense of place with strong visual connections to the outdoors and surrounding mountain ranges.
