UC Davis’ West Village student housing complex is comprised of three phases and distributed on 200 acres. Solstice, Phase II, introduces a new concept in university living, combining sophisticated comforts with environmentally thoughtful design, allowing residents to reduce their reliance on cars, limit energy consumption, and enjoy the benefits of a local climate in a healthy environment. Combined with The Ramble, West Village is the largest Zero Net Energy (ZNE) development of its kind. The project combines energy load reduction with onsite renewable energy production; the energy footprint and environmental impact are essentially eliminated. Solstice achieved LEED Platinum certification.
