SVA Architects, in collaboration with EYRC Architects, provided a study on the Mesa Court Expansion for the University of California, Irvine. The Mesa Court Expansion project is designed to inspire its inhabitants, engaging their minds and senses while providing the comfort and conveniences of a home away from home. The project structured as three bar-shaped Towers of housing (running east-west) atop a garden-like podium that houses two levels of dining and community Spaces. The three towers, each with a uniquely-shaped great room and interlocking lounge, lobby and circulation spaces, are directly born out of the specific ideas of community-building—providing UCI with a world class living/learning facility.
