University of California, Irvine | 3 Stories
The project consists of the removal of the exterior precast sunshades, walls, and glass and steel windows on three stories of a historic five-story classroom building. The existing precast sunshades on the building had deteriorated and became a hazard with fragments of material falling on the walkway below. The challenge of the project was removing the exterior sunshade during the one-week spring break and then, over summer break, removing the remaining exterior wall and installing the new stone panels and window wall. Our team successfully completed the project within the narrow time frames.
